SOUTH BEND - Adeline "Addie" Kruszewski, 81, of South Bend, IN, passed away at 12:45 a.m. Thursday, December 23, 2010, in the Healthwin Specialized Care Facility. She was born on July 14, 1929, to the late Casimer and Harriet (Luczkowski) Rybak in South Bend, IN, and was a lifelong resident. Along with her parents, two sisters, Rita Klimowicz and Anita Taghon, and one brother, Robert Rybak, also preceded her in death. Mrs. Kruszewski retired in August 1979 from Indiana Bell after 33 years of employment. Adeline started working for Indiana Bell in 1948. She held various positions including operator, central office clerk, district secretary for traffic manager, and supervisor for local dial & toll assignments. She also was a network manager of toll and local clerical assignments and supervisor in South Bend, Hammond, and Merrillville, Indiana. In June 1949, as Adeline Rybak, she married Daniel E. Kruszewski at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in South Bend, IN. He died in 1986. She is survived by two sisters-in-law, Gwen Kruszewski and Dolores Rybak of South Bend, IN; brother-in-law, Henry Taghon of South Bend, IN; nephew, Jeffrey Taghon of South Bend, IN, and his two daughters, Maureen and Makenzie; and his stepson, Michael; niece, Debra Taghon of South Bend, IN; and many other nieces and nephews. Mrs. Kruszewski was a member of Corpus Christi parish where she served as a Eucharistic Minister for the church and volunteered in the school office. Adeline was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. today, December 26, 2010, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, IN, where a parish Rosary will be prayed at 4:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, December 27, 2010, in Corpus Christi Catholic Church. Entombment will follow at Riverview Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 2801 Corpus Christi Drive, South Bend, IN 46628.
