Lillian Marie Gonsoroski Apr. 17, 1933 - Sept. 26, 2015 SOUTH BEND - Lillian Marie Gonsoroski, 82, journeyed to heaven on September 26th, 2015. A dear and beloved mother of 6 children, her life was rich and full with the treasure of love for her marriage, her children, grandchildren, extended family, friends and neighbors. She brought gifts, seen and unseen, to others' lives so dear to her. She loved sharing with others her love for cooking, reading, a passion for fresh flowers and gardening, and family time at the lake where she would welcome all and share of her abundance. She will be remembered for embracing the company of so many, her compassion and perpetual guidance and unconditional love that she so freely gave to her husband, children and grandchildren as well as her warm smile ever present to all and to those who especially knew her as Mrs. G. She had a heart of Gold that served her well. She was born on April 17, 1933 in South Bend, the youngest child from the large family of Joseph and Katherine Kurowski, who preceded her in death. Lillian is survived by a sister, Lottie Stock of Indianapolis, Indiana and numerous nieces and nephews from her many siblings. A lifelong resident of South Bend, Lillian graduated from South Bend Catholic High School. Before starting a family she was employed by Indiana Bell Telephone Co. for 10 years. She also held several part time positions as a receptionist at St. Joseph Hospital, The University of Notre Dame and Saint Mary's College. Lillian received a certificate of floral design from the Hixson School of Floral Design in Lakewood, OH. Lillian married Daniel Gonsoroski in 1954 in South Bend. They were happily married for 54 years, before his death in 2008. Lillian and Dan shared the true American spirit of hard work and dedication to their family. Lillian is survived by her three daughters, Joy Ann (Geoff) Newman of Mishawaka, Karen (Paul) Lavoie of Niles and Nancy (Joe) Letizia of Granger; and three surviving sons, David Gonsoroski of Boca Raton, FL, Tom Gonsoroski of Mishawaka and Paul (Rebecca) Gonsoroski of Granger. She was blessed with seven grandchildren who also survive, Nicholas (Amanda) Letizia, Alexander Nelson, Julian Letizia, Danial Gonsoroski, Mia Letizia, Nicole Gonsoroski and Kate Gonsoroski. Lillian's surviving family will be forever grateful for the love, support and kindness she so unconditionally extended to them throughout their lives and her memory and love will remain in our hearts forever. Visitation will be from 3 pm to 8 pm on Friday, October 2 at the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend. Words of remembrance will be 7 pm - 7:30 pm. A Rosary will be recited from 7:30 to 8 pm. A Funeral Mass will be held at Christ the King Church on Saturday, October 3 at 10:00 am. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. The family would like to extend its gratitude to all those who provided such kindness and care. Published in South Bend Tribune from Sept. 29 to Sept. 30, 2015
