LAKEVILLE, IN - Jeanette “Jan” Ciesielski, my bride of 42 years passed away peacefully Friday at home after a lifetime struggle with a neuromuscular disease. Jan was born January 31, 1949 on a cold winter day to Ed and Ann (Buszkiewicz) Mnichowski. Jan was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Anna Marie (Donald) Heinek. On May 22, 1976 Jan married the love of her life, David Ciesielski; he survives along with her sister, Mary Ann (Leonard) Dobosiewicz. Mary Ann dedicated her life to helping Jeanette with compassion and love that could only come from a sister. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Jan worked as a medical assistant, as a realtor's office assistant, and helped dispensing drugs at Tuesley's Drug Store. She also was a hostess & waitress at the Howard Johnsons, and Roberts Cleaning Center until she was unable to work. Jan accepted Jesus Christ as the Lord and Savior, and had a special devotion to his Mother Mary, especially the Rosary, which she prayed daily. A special thank you to Harry & Kathy Ciesielski, who helped at every curve in the road. Heartfelt thanks to Real Services and Interim Health Care, especially Rachelle Kolski for her personal care, love, compassion, and humor she brought to her job. Thanks to Tiffany and Angela of Hospice who put smiles on Jan's face while alleviating her pain. God bless everyone who helped her carry her cross by opening a door, a smile, or a kind word. You will never know how much that meant. Finally, to her Special Friend “Jimbo” James Coleman whose love and attention to Jan's every need was truly heroic. Visitation for Jan will be held 9:00 am to 11:00 am Saturday, November 17, 2018 in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Rd. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 12:00 pm in the Sacred Heart of Jesus Christ Catholic Church, 63568 US 31, South Bend. Burial will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 63568 US 31, South Bend, IN 46614 or Heart to Heart Hospice of Northern Indiana, 620 W.
