Ruth M. E. Futterknecht, 92, formerly of Beachwood Lane, South Bend, passed away at 10:30 a.m. Monday in the Regency Place Center, South Bend.
Ruth was born March 3, 1905 to the late Samuel and Bertha Glass in South Bend. Ruth had worked at the Mishawaka License branch as manager for many years and also for the Chicago Motor Club. As Ruth M. E. Glass, she married Leo E. Futterknecht on July 23, 1923. He died October 9, 1978. Ruth is survived by one daughter, Amaryllis Amy Yendes of South Bend; a daughter-in-law Marian Futter of South Bend; and seven grandchildren, Linda (Rick) Ryker of Granger, Lisa (Don) Lanham of Ft. Wayne, Lynne (Mark) Gillmore of Ft. Wayne, Marsha Futter of New Jersey, Kevin Yendes of South Bend, Mark (Janice) Futter of Ft. Wayne and Richard (Barbara) Futter of Milwaukee, Wis. She also had six great-grandchildren. Ruth was preceded in death by her son Richard E. on May 13, 1982, two sisters, Kathryn Scott and Virginia Elliott, and a brother, Kaylor Glass. Ruth was a loving and caring grandmother. Friends may call after 11 a.m. Friday in Bubb Funeral Chapel North, where services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday. Father Robert Yast of St. Joseph Catholic Church will be officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
