ELKHART - Donald F. Rogers, 81, passed away peacefully on March 19, 2017, while surrounded by his family in Elkhart. He was born on January 19, 1936, in South Bend, Indiana, to the late Francis and Alice (Kazmirski) Rogers. On December 17, 1977, he married Mary Pease at the Grace Lutheran Church where they have been lifetime members. Donald worked for many years as an RV salesman and in his retirement worked as a maintenance employee at Caps. Mr. Rogers was also a Mason associated with the Kane Lodge #183 F&AM, member of the Elkhart County Shrine Club, and an active member of the Orak Shrine Club until late 2015. Donald also served his country in the United States Air Force for seven years. In addition to his loving wife, Mary, Donald is survived by his son, John (Cindy) Rogers of Edwardsburg, MI; stepdaughters, Deb (Phil) Geise of Elkhart, Cindy (Kevin) Carpenter of Goshen, Kathy (Brian) Caplinger, also of Elkhart; stepson, David (Gina) Ritter of Avon, IN; ten grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. Mr. Rogers was preceded in death by his daughter, Christy Ann DeCook, and brothers, Richard and Ronald Rogers. Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home is entrusted with Donald's services. Visitation will be open to the public at the Grace Lutheran Church located at 831 West Marion St., Elkhart, IN 46516, on Thursday, March 23, 2017, from 10:00 am until service time at 11:00 am.
