Tommy W. Daugherty, residing in South Bend, passed away on Thursday, February 3, 2022 at age of 78 with his children by his side. Tommy was born on January 2, 1944 in Ora, IN., to the late Russell and Dorothy (Reinholt) Daugherty. Tommy worked for over 50 years as an owner-operator truck driver and was an incredibly hard worker. He was a loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He is survived by his daughters, Sherie (John) Reed of South Bend, Michele (Brian) Thomas of Mishawaka, son, Tom (Crystal) Daughtery of South Bend, along with their mother, Christine Daughterty, along with his four grandchildren, Tyler, Chase, Shelby, and Liam, and six great grandchildren. Also surviving are his sisters, Kathrine (Orville) Holcomb, Carolyn (Eurrat) Saylor, Jane (Dan) Miller, Barb Gouker, brothers, Luther (Joan) Daugherty, Bob Daugherty, Dick (Phyllis) Daugherty, Vickey Joe Daugherty. Tommy also leaves behind his long-time companion, Sandy VanBruaene and her son, Nick VanBruaene. Along with his parents, Tommy was preceded in death by his sister, Marilin Daugherty, brothers, Don, Jim and Jerry Daugherty. Memorial services for Tommy will be held at Palmer Funeral Home - Guisinger Chapel, 3718 S. Michigan St. South Bend, IN at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, February 11, 2022. Friends may visit with the family beginning at 3:00 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Riley’s Children's Hospital, 30 S.
