SOUTH BEND - Irene D. Wiskotoni passed away on Thursday in South Bend, IN. Irene was born in South Bend to the late Karol and Josephine (Wilusz) Wrobel. On July 29, 1950, Irene married Bert E. Wiskotoni. He preceded her in death on December 4, 1994. Irene was also preceded in death by her sisters, Angela Wrobel and Chesterine Jaroszewski; brothers, Aloysius Wrobel and Edward Wrobel; and by her niece, Linda Wrobel Czartoryski. Irene is survived by her six nieces, Kathleen Jaroszewski of South Bend, Susan (Larry) Pike of Carmel, IN, Patricia (David) Martin of South Bend, Barbara (Charles) Dreiling of Denver, CO, Diane Wrobel of South Bend and Joellen (Nigel) Hawman of Floyds Knobs, IN; two special nieces from the Wiskotoni family, Christine Bella of South Bend and Marie Bella Briggs of Buchanan, MI; sisters, Florence Wrobel and Clementine Wrobel, both of South Bend; and by many great-nieces and nephews. Irene retired as a supervisor from the budget department in the South Bend Community School Corporation after 40 years of service. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and baking, and she was known for her coconut creme pies. She also enjoyed shopping, going out to dinner, and vacationing with her nieces. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Monday, August 27, 2012, in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Road, where a Rosary will be prayed at 4:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Tuesday, August 28, 2012, in St. Adalbert Catholic Church. Entombment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Resurrection Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Vincent de Paul Society of St. Joseph County, Inc., 3408 Ardmore Trail, South Bend, IN 46628. Condolences for the family may be made at www.sjfh.net.
