SOUTH BEND - Michael Joseph Gregorich, 76, residing in South Bend, passed away early Saturday morning, August 6, 2011, in his home. He was born January 19, 1935, in Seaward, PA, a son of Peter & Mary (Gecina) Gregorich. On June 23, 1956, in Beaver Falls, PA, Mike and Jean Shroads were united in marriage. He is survived by his loving and caring wife, Jean of 55 years. Also surviving are three sons, Michael (Katherine) Gregorich of Granger, Bruce (Jennifer) Gregorich and Tom (Christine) Gregorich, both of South Bend. In addition, he is survived by five grandchildren, Christopher Gregorich, Cynthia Bernard, Michelle Tewes, Brian Gregorich and Danielle Gregorich; and four great-grandchildren, Colette, Marissa, Kherington and Madelyn. He was preceded in death by 15 brothers and sisters. Mr. Gregorich retired as a supervisor with the Goodyear Tire Company following 291/2 years of employment. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He was a graduate of Beaver Falls High School in Pennsylvania, was an avid bass fisherman, and enjoyed working on projects around the house, and spending time on his hobby of inventing. Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 9, at the Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 South Michigan Street, South Bend. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. Tuesday until services. Graveside services and military rites will follow at Southlawn Cemetery.
