SOUTH BEND - George J. Berlakovich, 56, passed away unexpectedly into the arms of the Lord September 24, 2016. He was born November 26, 1959 to Frank John and Agnes Marie (Horworth) Berlakovich. He was preceded in death by his mother, Agnes Berlakovich. On August 6, 1983, George married his high school sweetheart, Yvonne Carlson. She survives. Also left to cherish his memory are his father, Frank Berlakovich of Carmel, IN; two siblings, Frank (Carol) Berlakovich of Argyle, TX and Mary Kay (Roger) Banner of Westfield, IN; three children, Jessica (Anthony Havens) Platz of South Bend, IN, John Berlakovich of Austin, TX and Joel Berlakovich of South Bend, IN and granddaughter, Josephine Havens of South Bend, IN. George was devoted to his family, and his Savior, Jesus Christ. He was a faithful member of First Baptist Church, where he was a moderator and was a student at Bethel College. Visitation will be held Wednesday, 4-7 PM at the McGann Hay, Granger Chapel, 13260 SR23, enter off Cherry Rd. The funeral service will be Thursday at 11 AM, with visitation one hour prior, at First Baptist Church, 3010 S. Ironwood Dr., South Bend, IN 46614, with Reverend Diana Thompson officiating.
