SOUTH BEND - John Stephen Trojanowski, 79, residing in South Bend, passed away at 7:15 a.m. Saturday, August 25, 2007, in Memorial Hospital. He was born August 30, 1927, in South Bend, to Walter and Theodora (Jeziorski) Trojanowski, and had remained a lifelong resident of this community. On July 1, 1950, in St. Hedwig's Catholic Church, John was united in marriage to Barbara J. Rybicki, who survives. He is also survived by four daughters, Linda McCaffery of South Bend, Julie (Kari Hubler) Trojanowski of Fort Wayne, Suzanne Trojanowski of Galveston, TX, and Amy Trojanowski ; two sons, Ron (Beth Ellen) Trojanowski of Indianapolis, IN, and Jim Trojanowski. Also surviving John are three grandchildren, Charles (Ivonne) McCaffery of Granger, Rick (Jess) McCaffery and Jackie McCaffery, both of South Bend; and two great-grandchildren, Brianna and Ethan. John was preceded in death by his parents; and by a brother, Clem Trojanowski. Mr. Trojanowski formerly was employed as manager and funeral director of St. Joseph Funeral Home, South Bend. He was also employed by the City of South Bend. He was a graduate of Washington High School and Indiana College of Mortuary Science, Indianapolis, IN. He attended St. Adalbert's Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. in St. Hedwig's Church, 331 S. Scott Street, South Bend. Rev. Leonard Chrobot will officiate. There will be no visitation. The family requests that contributions in memory of John be made to the Center for Hospice & Palliative Care, Inc., 111 Sunnybrook Court, South Bend, IN 46637. The Palmer Funeral Home- Guisinger Chapel, 3718 South Michigan Street, South Bend, is assisting the Trojanowski family with arrangements.
