J. Patrick Kirwan, 59, a lifelong resident of South Bend, passed away at 9:39 a.m. Friday, July 10, 2020, at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Mishawaka, IN. Pat was born June 20, 1961, a son of the late Joseph M. and Katherine M. (Burosky) Kirwan who have both preceded him in death, as well as a brother, James Kirwan, who passed away in December 1988. Pat is survived by his two sisters, Kathleen (Keary) Kensigner of San Francisco, CA, and Sally (John) Dorsey of Deerfield, IL; and his four brothers, Daniel (Maggie) Kirwan of Bloomington, IN, John Kirwan of South Bend, IN, Michael (Laura) Kirwan of Greenville, SC, and Timothy (Karen) Kirwan of San Antonio, TX. He is also survived by three nephews, Derek Kensinger, Nathan Kensinger, and Shaun Kirwan, and four nieces, Astrid Kensinger, Amanda (Kirwan) Barrett, Katie Dorsey, and Annie Dorsey, and two grand-nephews and three grand-nieces. Visitation for Pat will be from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 16th, 2020 with a funeral service immediately following at the Palmer Funeral Home - Guisinger Chapel, South Bend, with Rev. Kevin Bauman officiating. Pat will be laid to rest with his parents and brother at Southlawn Cemetery.
