SOUTH BEND, IN - Marcia Ann Vargo, 78, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 23, 2021. She was born on February 18, 1943, to the late Wilbur B. and Mildred A. (Stoddard) Sawdon. On October 23, 1971, in Our Lady of Hungary Church, she married Richard T. Vargo who survives. Also surviving Marcia are her daughters, Julie Ann (Eric) Kline and Jennifer Lynn (Phillip) Williams; her grandchildren who were the light of her life, Jessica Ann Eckerley, Jennifer Christine Eckerley, Jordan Wayne Eckerley, Joseph Michael Kline, Trenton D. Williams, and Tyler R. Williams; brother, Larry (Linda) Sawdon; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. While at Eggleston, she was room mother, teacher's aide, library aide, Chapter One tutor, and President of the PTO. Since retiring she has become #1 Grandma. Her grandchildren will miss the homemade cookies and fancy birthday cakes that she made for them. She enjoyed cake decorating, doing crafts, and yard sales. She had lots of family and dear friends and would like to ask them not to be sad, but to smile at someone each and every day in her memory. She is at rest now and will see you again. Graveside service will be held at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Chapel on Saturday, February 27, 2021, at 10:30 am. Hahn Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
