SOUTH BEND - Isabel C. Medina, 81, passed away, on her 67th wedding anniversary, Saturday, May 2, at 10:17 a.m. in her residence. Isabel was born on November 1, 1927 in Mexico to the late Acenino and Benita (Duron) Cervantes. On May 2, 1942, she married Pablo Medina Sr., and he passed away on January 16, 2004. She was also preceded in death by four children, Juanita, Guadalupe, Gloria, and Anna; two sisters and by one brother. She is survived by her eight children, Nicolasa Arreguin of California, Guadalupe Hernandez of South Bend, Terisa Bernal of South Bend, Victoria Floyd of LaPorte, Norma Medina of South Bend, Augustin Medina of South Bend, Pablo Medina Jr. of South Bend and Mario Medina of South Bend; 29 grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren; and by one great-great-granddaughter. Isabel retired from Notre Dame. She was a parishioner at St. Adalbert Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 5 in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Road, where a rosary will be prayed at 4 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, May 6 in St. Adalbert Catholic Church. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, South Bend. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society , P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718.
