Angeline Lamberson Panos, 97, passed away peacefully at 10:40 p.m. Sunday, May 1, 2011 at Golden Living Center-Fountainview in Mishawaka. Angie was born on August 22, 1913 to Greek immigrant parents, in LaPorte, Indiana. Her parents ran a candy store and a boarding house. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Leo, Teddy, and Jimmy Lamberson, and one sister Bessie, and their respective spouses. She is survived by two sons, James H. Panos, and H. John (Nancy) Panos of Granger. She is also survived by her only grandchild, Michelle (Jason) Rainey and three great-grandchildren, Evan John, Garrett Cole, and Lindsey Dru Rainey of Lafayette, IN. Her niece, Georgia Ryndak of Chicago, 4 great- nieces and nephews, and 7 great-great nieces and nephews also survive Angeline. Angeline was an active member of St. Andrew's Greek Orthodox Church and the Daughters of Penelope. She served in the Daughters for well over 50 years and held many offices from Secretary to District Governor. She truly enjoyed being a part of this organization. Along with being a homemaker, Angie co-owned and operated Famous Grill across from the County-City Building for many years. She also worked as a seamstress for White House Uniform Company and Koszegi Leather, finally retiring in 2003 at the age of 89. She loved to cook for her family and enjoyed bowling. Angeline's "claim to fame" came in 2001 when she appeared on-stage with Bob Barker on The Price is Right. She wore her Notre Dame sweatshirt on the program. Angie was a die-hard Chicago Cubbies fan also. Angie was a loving mother, sister, and friend to all who knew her. She was always concerned about others. Many thanks to all who cared for and about Angeline during her lifetime. She led a long and fruitful life. Special thanks to Dr. Mokfi who treated her like she was his own mother.

"Mother Dear"
Beautiful things in this life are manifold tis true,
we count the stars by thousands, the birds
and flowers, too;
The sunsets and dawnings, rare beauties far and near,
but all the wide world over, there's just one "Mother Dear."
