INDEX

[N93] Stanislawa (Bucholtz) Witucki
According to the 1900 census records of South Bend, IN, Vincent and Stanislawa Witucki, both born in Poland, emigrated in the late 1870s, and had been married 19 years. Valentine Cyzewski, C.S.C., often signed marriage records as pastor of St. Hedwig Catholic Church, but, according to the image of the original marriage record of Vincent Witucki and Stanislawa Bucholtz viewable on familysearch.org, Valentine Czyzewski, C.S.C., signed their Sep. 19, 1881 (not Sep. 17) marriage record as pastor of St. Joseph Polish Catholic Church, South Bend, Ind. Both the St. Casimer Catholic Church interment records and the WPA, Indiana, Index to Death Records, indicate that Vincent Witucki died at the age of 39 on 3/20/1901 (not in 1900 as his gravestone is inscribed ). The 1910 census household of Stanislawa Witucki, 52, widow, included the same four children as were listed in the 1900 census household of Vincent and Stanislawa Witucki: Frank, Weronika, Kostancia, and Helen. The St. Casimer Catholic Church interment records indicate that Stanislawa Witucki died 11/22/1918 at the age of 60 years. The WPA index lists Stanislawa Witucki's death as occurring three days later, on 11/25/1918, at the age of 60 years. Her death was first published on 11/27/1918 in the South Bend Tribune. Her age at death is consistent with her age in the census records, indicating that the birth year inscribed on her gravestone, 1867-1918, may be incorrect by about ten years, but not the year of her death.
