MISHAWAKA - Elli A. Pietrzak, 88, passed away on Saturday, September 2, 2017, at the Sanctuary at St. Paul's, South Bend, after an Illness. Elli was born on July 9, 1929, in Regensburg, Germany, as the daughter of Herman and Anna (Bayer) Schmidt. She and her family migrated to the United States in 1958, first to South Bend, then moving to Mishawaka to make their home. Elli was preceded in death by her parents, and one son, Frank Pietrzak. She is survived by two sons, Thomas (Roberta) Pietrzak and John Pietrzak, both of Mishawaka. Five grandchildren, Denise, Thomas II, Jacqueline, Jessica, Jamie. Elli's kind heart and strong work ethic and love of family were passed down to her sons and grandchildren. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Mishawaka. Per Elli's request, private burial will take place at Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka. Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, is handling arrangements.
