Virginia “Sis” L. DeGraff, 80, passed away at 12:30 p.m. Saturday. August 27, 2022, at her home. She was born on September 2, 1941, in South Bend, Indiana to the late Joseph Martin Ray, Sr. and Goldie Marie Wileman Ray. On June 12, 1965, in South Bend, Indiana she was united in marriage to Earl A. DeGraff, who preceded her in death on May 5, 2006. Sis worked as a pharmacy assistant at Walmart for several years and previously worked at South Bend Drug for twenty-seven years. She was a member of the Maennerchor Club, South Bend Bowling League, and Mishawaka Bowling League. Sis is survived by two sisters, Phyllis Hendrickson of Mishawaka and Shirley Labadie of South Bend; and many nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by five sisters, Erma Berridge, Luella Reidenbach, Lela Lisi, Rosemary Giles and Violet Ruth Ray; and three brothers, James Ray, John Ray and Joseph Martin Ray, Jr..Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, September 1, 2022, at Palmer Funeral Home ~ River Park Chapel, 2528 Mishawaka Ave., South Bend. Graveside services and burial will follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger, IN. Friends may visit with the family from 11:00 a.m. Thursday until time of services at the funeral home.
