Joseph M. Csaszar Sr., 89, of South Bend, Ind., passed away from natural causes at 11:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 9, in the Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, South Bend. Mr. Csaszar was born on Feb. 11, 1915, in South Bend, to the late Paul and Rosalie (Langel) Csaszar. He had remained a lifelong area resident, retiring in 1979 from Uniroyal Corporation after 32 years of employment. On Nov. 30, 1946, in Our Lady of Hungary Catholic Church, South Bend, Joseph married the former Frances A. Kaczmarczyk, who survives. Along with is wife, Frances of 57 years, survivors include two daughters, Annette (Alan) Hemig of South Bend and Jeannette (Basil "Buck") Shepherd of South Bend; two sons, Joseph M. (Karen J.) Csaszar, Jr. of South Bend and Stephen Csaszar of South Bend; 10 grandchildren, Diane (Aaron) Hipsher of South Bend, David (Julie) Hemig of Delphi, Bethany (Michael) Franks of Iuka, Miss., Rebecca (Christopher) Kaade of Mesa, Ariz., Jeffery Sheperd of South Bend, Todd Shepherd of South Bend, Jessica Csaszar of Cassopolis, Mich., Joseph M. Csaszar III of South Bend, Jacqulyn Csaszar of South Bend and Jennifer Williams of South Bend; 12 great- grandchildren; and one sister, Mary Irvin of Granger, Ind.Two sisters, Elizabeth Csaszar and Rosalie Daszynski, and two brothers, Paul and Stephen Csaszar, all preceded him in death. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 13, in the Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 S. Michigan S., South Bend. Rev. James Seculoff of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church will officiate. Graveside services and burial will follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, South Bend. Friends may visit with the family from 2 to 6 p.m. today, Sept. 12, in the Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, where a Rosary will be said at 6 p.m. Contributions in memory of Joseph M. Csaszar Sr. may be donated to Boy Scouts of America LaSalle Council, 1433 Northside Blvd., South Bend, IN 46615.
