SOUTH BEND - Elizabeth Farkas, 86, of Meridian Nursing Center-Cardinal, died at 1:15 p.m. Saturday in the center of an illness. Mrs. Farkas was employed by the former Wilson Brothers. She was born Nov. 16, 1907, in South Bend and was a lifelong resident. On Nov. 27, 1926, in South Bend, as Elizabeth Sipotz, she married Joseph Farkas. He died in April 1987. Surviving are a daughter, Rosalie Csakany of Indianapolis; a grandchild; and four sisters, Mary Kish, Frances Toth, Margaret Buday and Theresa Bachaleda, all of South Bend. She was a member of Our Lady of Hungary Catholic Church and its Saint Ann Society.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the church. Burial will be in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday in Zahoran Funeral Home, where a rosary will be said at 3 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the church.
