Rita J. Buysse, 69, of South Bend, Ind., passed away at 12:44 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 30, in Memorial Hospital, South Bend. She was born to the late Frank and Stella Papczynski on Nov. 27, 1931, in South Bend, and was a lifelong resident. One brother, Richard Papczynski, also preceded her in death in 1996. On May 7, 1955, as Rita J. Papczynski, she married Gene C. Buysse in St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, South Bend. He survives along with three daughters, Kimberly (Joseph) Metz of South Bend, Karen Buysse of South Bend and Kathy (Philip) Dance of Granger, Ind.; one son, Jeff (Angela) of North Liberty, Ind.; eight grandchildren, Ronald J. and Rebecca L. Mashon, Doug and Tom Buysse, Vince and Samantha Metz, and Austin and Justin Dance; three sisters, Virginia Zaworski of South Bend, Lorretta Harsanyi of South Bend and Ruth Meuninck of South Bend; and by a brother, Edward Papczynski of Lakeville, Ind.
There will be no visitation. Private services will take place. The Kaniewski Funeral Home is handling arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, 415 N. Brookfield Street, South Bend, IN 46628.
