Irma Ott
LONG BEACH, Ind. - Irma G. Ott, 88, Long Beach, died at 7:35 a.m. Wednesday (June 18, 2003) at Miller's Merry Manor Nursing Home, New Carlisle.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be said at 10 a.m. Saturday at Notre Dame Catholic Church, with the Rev. Richard Ameling officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Michigan City. Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. today, and from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, Michigan City. The Rosary will be said at 4:30 p.m. today at the funeral chapel. Mrs. Ott was born March 9, 1915, in Stillwell, to Andrew and Rose (Parrog) Szilagyi. On Sept. 8, 1951, in Michigan City, she married Paul J. Ott, who died Sept. 30, 1981. Survivors include one daughter, Rose-Anne (Dean) Uminski, Long Beach; three grandsons, Anthony, Michael and Paul Uminski, all of Long Beach; one sister, Julia Freeland, LaPorte; and three brothers, Elmer Szilagyi, Stillwell, Lawrence Szilagyi, New Carlisle, and Louis Szilagyi, Mill Creek. She was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Smith; and one brother, Andrew Szilagyi. Mrs. Ott was a homemaker and a charter member of Notre Dame Catholic Church, Long Beach, and a member of the VFW Women's Auxiliary 1130 of LaPorte. Memorials may be made to the donor's choice.
