THREE RIVERS - Mary Lou Chrobot, 80, of Three Rivers, Michigan, formerly of South Bend, Indiana passed away Saturday, January 4, 2014, in Bronson Methodist Hospital, Kalamazoo, Michigan. Mary Lou was born on April 12, 1933 in South Bend to Peter and Stella (Scultz) Cudowski. She had lived in South Bend for 65 years before moving to Three Rivers. Mary Lou had been employed with the South Bend Elks Club for 20 years. She had also worked at Memorial Hospital in the Communications Department for 6 years. On April 25, 1953 in St. Stanislaus Church she married Henry Chrobot, who survives. Also surviving are her five children, Susan (John) Mackin of Dyer, Indiana, Michael (Kim Gladden) Chrobot of Lakewood, Ohio, John (Connie) Chrobot of Columbus, Indiana, Robert Chrobot of Mishawaka, Indiana, and Steven (Julie) Chrobot of South Bend, Indiana; eight grandchildren, Christopher Makin, Kellen (Sierra Rhodes) Mackin, Jeff Willis, Tim (Suzanne) Willis, Olivia Chrobot, Alexis Chrobot, Ethan Chrobot, and Brian Chrobot; and two sisters, Helene Wilcox of North Ridge, California and Louise Reiner of Granger, Indiana. Mary Lou was preceded in death by four sisters, Stella Sniadecki, Regina Kubiak, Florence Kowalewski, and Lorraine Rozewicz; and two brothers, Eugene and Ervin Cudowski. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00, Thursday, January 9, 2014 in St. Hedwig Church, with Rev. Leonard Chrobot officiating. Friends may call from 2-8 Wednesday in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, where a Rosary will be prayed at 7:00. Mary Lou was a member of St. John the Baptist Parish for many years. She was a former member of the Altar and Rosary Society and the St. John the Baptist School Guild, and volunteered at Three Rivers Hospital. She enjoyed family, friends, travel and new adventures. She was a wonderful sister, wife, mother, and grandmother who will be dearly missed by all. Memorial contributions may be made to the Center for Hospice Care.
