Diana Lynn Stanton, 71, of New Carlisle, IN, passed away at 8:55 p.m. Thursday, October 14, 2021 in her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on March 19, 1950 to the late Harry L. and Irene A. (Novak) Lewis in Michigan City, IN, and lived most of her life in New Carlisle, IN. Along with her parents; she was preceded in death by a sister, Alice Moore; and her former husband, Donald Jones. Diana graduated in 1968 from New Carlisle High School and then attended Ivy Tech Community College in South Bend, IN. She had worked at Black Cat Lanes in New Carlisle, IN for 20 years and then at CVS in New Carlisle for over 10 years; before working at Kabelin Ace Hardware in LaPorte, IN for five years. On June 21, 2009, as Diana Lynn Jones, she married Ray Stanton at Bendix Woods County Park in New Carlisle, IN. Diana is survived by her husband, Ray Stanton of New Carlisle, IN; daughter, Dawn M. Cook of LaPorte, IN; sons, Michael D. (Crystal) Lewis and Christian W. (April) Jones, both of Hudson Lake, IN; eight grandchildren, Nicholas, Alexandra (husband Joshua), Daniel, Noah, Alexander, Emma, Michael Jr., and Hunter; six great grandchildren, Jaiden, Hailey, Elena, Makenna, Arianna, and Theresa; two sisters, Bonnie (Rusty Williams) Lewis of Slidell, Louisiana; Mary (Darel) Kutemeier of Niles, MI; and two brothers, Richard (Eilene) Lewis of Bedford, IN; Charles (Debbie) Lewis of Hudson Lake, IN. Diana loved bowling; and enjoyed fishing, singing, reading, hiking, and most of all spending time with her family and friends. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 297 in New Carlisle, IN. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. EST Tuesday, October 19, 2021 at Hamilton Church, 31519 Chicago Trail, New Carlisle, IN and also from 12 - 1 p.m. EST Wednesday, October 20, 2021 in the church. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. EST Wednesday, October 20, 2021 in Hamilton Church, New Carlisle, IN. Burial will follow in Hamilton Cemetery.
