Charles W. "Bill" Kubsch

Charles W. "Bill" Kubsch, 87, residing in South Bend, IN passed away at 6:15 PM Thursday, February 10, 2011 at his home. He retired as a set up man for Bendix Corporation in 1987 after 35 years of service. He was born on August 26, 1923 in South Bend, IN to Paul H. and Wava (Whitsell) Kubsch and remained a lifelong resident. On October 26, 1946 in South Bend, IN he married Dorothy M. (Grabarz) Kubsch, who survives. Along with his loving wife, Dorothy M. Kubsch he is survived by his three daughters, Kathleen K. (Marvin) Williams of Granger, Paula A. (Charles) Ferman of Plymouth and Eleanor M. (Joseph) Huemmer of Mishawaka; seven grandchildren, Andy (Lesley) Williams, Angie (Chris) Rice, Adam (Traycee) Ferman, Brent (Raeanna Treleven) Ferman, Chad (Amber) Ferman, Amy (Todd) Hurley and Heather (Dan) Miller; eleven great grandchildren, Ella Williams, Ryan & Olivia Rice, Gavyn & Arielle Ferman, Kyla & Caleb Ferman, Jakob, Zoe and Sophia Hurley, and Aidan Miller; and his sister, Eleanor Stitt of Berea, OH. Four sisters, Pat Bergin, Nadine Horton, Donnie Morrow and Wava Sweet and seven brothers, Paul Kubsch, John Kubsch, Tom Touhey, Carney Kubsch, Vernon Spears, Pete Kubsch and Lawrence "Peachy" Kubsch all preceded him in death. Mr. Kubsch was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church-Woodland; and served his country during World War II in the United States Army. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, February 14, 2011 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Woodland, 15697 New Road, Mishawaka, IN. Rev. Karl Brenner will officiate. Military services and burial will follow in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger, IN. Friends may visit with the family from 2:00-7:00 PM Sunday in Palmer Funeral Home-River Park, 2528 Mishawaka Ave, South Bend and at church on Monday one hour prior to services. Contributions in memory of Bill Kubsch may be made to Center for Hospice Care, 111 Sunnybrook Ct, South Bend, IN 46637.
