SOUTH BEND - Pearl V. Romano, 73, passed away on Sunday, November 2, 2014, in the Hospice House. Pearl was born October 8, 1941, in South Bend, to the late George and Margaret (Nyikos) Tarr. On June 9, 1962, in South Bend, Pearl married John B. Romano Jr., who preceded her in death on April 11, 2008. Pearl was also preceded in death by her brothers, Joseph, George, Stephen and Michael Tarr; nephews, Russell, Michael and Jason Tarr, and David Prent-kowski; and good friend, Jan Rzeszewski. Survivors of Pearl include her children, Annette Romano of Mishawaka and John Romano of South Bend; sister, Margaret (Len) Prent-kowski of South Bend; and many nieces and nephews. Pearl worked most of her life at Tina and Joe's Restaurant and Catering. She loved playing bingo and going to the cove with her husband. Pearl also enjoyed watching baseball and football on TV. A Mass of Christian Burial for Pearl will be celebrated at 10:00 am Tuesday, November 11th, in Holy Family Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Center for Hospice House, 501 Comfort Place, Mishawaka, Indiana 46545.
