SOUTH BEND - Beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother Elizabeth K. Nagy, 97, passed away Sunday, March 18, 2018 in South Bend, Indiana. Betty was born April 7, 1920 in Lorain, Ohio to John and Barbara (Kovach) Konter. She loved spending time with her family and will be dearly missed by them all. Betty held an administrative position for over 35 years with Uniroyal in South Bend, retiring in 1985, and volunteered following her retirement at St. Joseph Medical Center. She is survived by her sister, Vera Andert (Auntie Toots); daughters, Karen (Tom) Kimble and Pat (Roger) Blodgett; four grandchildren, Kelly (Mark) Stevens, Dave (Maria) Kimble, Jeff (Laurie) Blodgett, and Kim (Steve) Shemwell; and ten great-grandchildren. Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Steve “Peewee” Nagy; sisters, Goldie and Anna; and grandson, Chris. The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to Southfield Village for its compassionate care. Funeral Services will be celebrated at 11:30 am Saturday, March 24, 2018 in the Zahoran Funeral Home, 1826 Kemble Avenue. Burial will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Family and friends may gather from 9:30 until services in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Center for Hospice Care.
