[N11935] John B Romano Sr.
Birth: 1910
Death: 1989

John (Giovann Battista) was born in 1910 in Castellammare del Golfo, in the Trapani region of Sicily. It is a fishing village on the northwest coast of Sicily. His parents lived there until their arrival in America, living in the Italian North End of Boston. When John's mother, Rosa, died, his father, Giuseppe (or Joseph in America), moved with his children to Chicago, probably in 1924 or 1925. There he had two sisters who helped him rear his four youngest children. Son John didn't move far from his Chicago home and family, living in nearby South Bend, Indiana. His siblings were Antonina (Nina) Parisi, Sebastiana (Ann) Murren, Giuseppina (Josephine) Watson, and Antonino (Tony) Romano. He had a sister, also named Sebastiana or Anna, who died at age one in Boston.
