Barbara Jean Dudeck (Stovall), 81, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at home on Tuesday December 14, 2021. Barbara was born on June 19, 1940 in Caruthersville, Missouri to Homer Stovall and Bobbie King (Stovall) Myers. Barbara was lovingly raised by her mother along with her stepfather, Donald F. Myers, whom she called Daddy.
Barbara graduated from Caruthersville, H.S. in MO. Upon graduation she joined the United States Air Force and was stationed at Randolph A.F. Base in San Antonio, TX. There, she met the love of her life, Ronald R. Dudeck. The happy couple was married on January 2nd, 1960 in St. Stanislaus Church, South Bend, IN. Soon after they welcomed a daughter and a son. Together they joined St. John the Baptist Catholic Church where their children attended school. Barbara was an active parish member as a school volunteer and a Camp Fire Girl leader. She also served on the Parish Pastoral Council. Barbara was a loving wife and mother. Her children were her pride and joy. Barbara was also a dedicated employee, working 7 years for St. Joseph Bank and Trust. She later retired from Real Services, INC. after 23 years of service. After Retirement, Barbara enjoyed traveling, spending time with family and friends, and preparing delicious meals and desserts to share. She will be forever remembered for her bright smile, infectious laughter, and her positive attitude. Barbara is survived by her husband, Ronald, of 61 years, her daughter Karen Dudeck of North Carolina, and her son Randy (Stacey) Dudeck of South Bend. Barbara is also survived by her sisters; Sherry Kaiser, Donna LaKamp, and Denise (Richard) Ortmann; her sister-in-law Beverly Myers, and her brother-in-law Leroy Dudeck. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. She was proceeded in death by her parents and her brother, James D. Myers. The family would like to express special thanks to the wonderful cardiovascular staff members of Memorial Hospital, the caring staff of DaVita South Bend West Dialysis Center, Total Home Health Services, and the loving care of the Heart to Heart Hospice staff, especially Maribel, Tiffany, Tammy, Rebecca, Casey, and Vivianna. Visitation for Barbara will be held from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm with a rosary to be prayed at 5:30 pm on Sunday, December 19, 2021 at St. Joseph Funeral Home, 824 S. Mayflower Rd. South Bend. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 pm on Monday, December 20, 2021 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 56405 S. Mayflower Rd. South Bend. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Heart to Heart Hospice, 1178 Fremont Ct. Elkhart, IN 46516 and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
