MISHAWAKA - Dale B. Piotrowski, 73, of Mishawaka, IN, passed away in the evening on Saturday, February 7, 2015, in Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center surrounded by his family. To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord In His presence is fullness of joy. Mr. Piotrowski was born on May 16, 1941, in South Bend, IN, to the late Bernard E. and Evangeline R. (Tanner) Piotrowski. He grew up in Mishawaka and graduated from Mishawaka High School. Dale worked two jobs for many years as a truck driver and a security guard on nights and weekends. In his younger years he enjoyed taking his family to Lake Latonka, family bike rides, teaching his children how to swim, playing baseball, and was also involved in Indian Guides with his son. As the children grew he enjoyed going to Penn football games and BCS basketball as he supported his kids. He eventually retired from Holland Motor Express of South Bend and was a proud member of Teamster Local 364. After retirement, he worked part-time at Jaccar in Mishawaka. Dale is survived by his children, Kent (Jenny) Piotrowski of Mishawaka, IN and Michele (David) Hayes of South Bend, IN; sister, Karen Heiland of Elkhart, IN; and four grandsons, Ben (Lyndsay) Piotrowski of Jacksonville, FL, Cody Piotrowski at home, JD Hayes of Rapid City, SD and Bradley Hayes at home, and a friend, Donna Davis. Dale was a member of the Mishawaka High School Alumni and First Baptist Church Mishawaka. His hobbies were attending the sports and school activities of his four beloved grandsons. He also enjoyed fine cars and trucks and entering car shows with his friend Pat Slater. Visitation for Dale will be held on Friday, February 13, 2015 from 4-8 pm in Bubb Funeral Chapel, 3910 N. Main St., Mishawaka, IN. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, February 14, 2015 at 10 am with visitation one hour prior. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery.
