SOUTH BEND - Alex Palkowski, 91, of Grant Road, died February 8th while vacationing in Delray Beach, Florida. He was preceded in death by Margaret, his beloved wife for over 50 years, and by his brother, B.J. Survivors include his two daughters, Lynn (John) Halstead of Granger and Sharon (Bob) Jones of South Bend; four grandchildren, Kristin (Jeff) Miller, Stephanie (Steve) Myers, Christine (T.J.) Brecht and Kim Halstead; and sisters, Tillie (Fred) Gnott and Florence (John) Rafalski. He was employed by Bendix for over 30 years and was a longtime member of the Knights of Columbus.
A memorial Mass will be held in Holy Family at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 23rd. Memorial contributions may be made to the Arthritis Foundation, 2611 Aspen Way, South Bend.
