SOUTH BEND - Ralph C. Selesky, 87, of South Bend, passed away on Friday, January 30, 2009, in Hospice House, South Bend. He was born on September 10, 1921, in Detroit, MI, to the late Adam and Ottie Saleski. On September 9, 1944, he married Catherine Dominick, who preceded him in death on March 17, 1991. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara Reynolds. Ralph is survived by his daughters, Beverly (Kenneth) Kirsits and Nancy (James) Luczkowski, both of South Bend; his son, Chuck (Nancy) Selesky of South Bend; lifelong friend, Ann Schmieder; 11 grandchildren, Greg (Jodi) Crane, Mary (Jon) Grant, Jeneen Crane, Joseph Crane, Traci (Joe) Wiegand, Douglas (Amy) Luczkowski, Keith (Angela) Luczkowski, Scott (Dawn) Selesky, Mike (Anita) Selesky, Kevin Selesky and Cortney Marzette; and by 20 great-grandchildren. Mr. Selesky was a truck driver for South Bend Freight for over 2 0 years, until retiring in 1986. He was a former parishioner of Christ the King Catholic Church, was a United States Navy veteran and was a member of American Legion Post
#50. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 PM Tuesday, February 3, 2009, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, where a parish vigil will be held at 5 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM Wednesday, February 4, 2009, in Christ the King Catholic Church, South Bend. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola.
