Marie Szarwark, 92, a longtime are resident of South Bend, Indiana, died in her son's residence in Houston, Texas on September 15, 2002. She was born on March 8, 1910, to the late Stanley Kuczmanski and Agnes (Hess) Kuczmanski. Preceding her in death was her first husband, Ray Kolesiak, who died in 1962, she then married Steve Szarwark who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Michael and Ervin Kuczmanski, and three sisters, Irene Walkowiak, Henrietta Lodyga and Dorothy Kuczmanski. She is survived by four sons, Ralph Kolesiak and Josephine Bimmerle of Houston, Texas, Rev. Stanley Szarwark CICM of Dominican Republic and Ernie (Christy) Szarwark of Nashville, Tenn.; a daughter, Vickie (Norman) Kowalski of St. Petersburg, Fla.; six grandchildren, David Kowalski of Honolulu, Hawaii, Steven and Stephanie Kowalski of St. Petersburg, Kevin Kowalski of Peoria, Ill., Mary Cresep Szarwark and Mary Case Szarwark of Tennessee; six great grandchildren, Ashley, Steven, Joshua, Taylor Marie, Aliesha, and Christopher; two sisters, Virginia Wawrzyniak and Evangeline Kuczmanski of South Bend and several nieces and nephews. She was a member of St. Adalberts Church, Harvest House and the Golden Cluster. Friends and family may call from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 20 in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Road. A Rosary will be said at 4 p.m. Services will be Saturday, Sept. 21, 2002, at 10:00 a.m. in St. Adalberts Catholic Church, with entombment to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Harris County, Houston, Texas, and the American Kidney Foundation.
