CASSOPOLIS - Robert E. Wensits, 64, passed away at 2:00 pm Thursday, December 20, 2012, in Hospice House, Elkhart, surrounded by his family. Bob was born on July 1, 1948, in South Bend, to Emrich and Esther (Wroblewski) Wensits. He was a retired pipefitter with Local # 172. On October 18, 1969, in South Bend, he married the former Peggy J. Hauser, who died on April 19, 2008. Surviving are a daughter, Jodie (Scott) Temple of North Liberty; two sons, Robert J. (Wendy) Wensits of Jacksonville, FL, and James M. (Amy) Wensits of Flintstone, GA; 7 grandchildren Derrick, Allison, Haley, Brooke, Camryn, Ashlynn and Blake; and a sister Janet M. (Jack) Kary of South Bend. The family would like to extend special thanks to Rush University Medical Center, Chicago. Funeral services will be celebrated at 10:00 am Thursday, December 27, 2012, in First Brethren Church, 4909 S. Ironwood Drive, South Bend. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery.
