SOUTH BEND - Angelina A. Chwalek, 91, passed away at 5:30 am Saturday, August 31, 2013 in the Miller's Merry Manor. Angelina was born October 2, 1921 in Johnstown, PA to the late John and Victoria (Bilotta) Donato. Angelina married Stanley Chwalek on June 23, 1944 in Mamaroneck, NY. He preceded her in death on May 7, 2005. Angelina is also preceded in death by sisters, Mary Figowitz, Rose Cimaglia, Theresa Smirga, Josephine Goldberg, and Viola Glodey and a brother, Nicolo Donato. Survivors include daughters, Vickie (Terry) Conway of South Bend, IN and Betty Jane (Stan) Bober of Clearwater, FL; a sister, Betty DiRollo of Mamaroneck, NY; grandchildren, Dale Manczunski of Granger, IN, Toni Lynn Bober-Williams of Mishawaka, IN, Rikki Marie (Ray Chase) Bober of Chicago, IL, and Kerri (Jason) Dailey of South Bend, IN; great-grandchildren, Jared, Alex, Josh, Jeremy, Adam, Jessie, Gabriella, Landon and Trevor; and great-great-granddaughters, Bella and Jaylene.
Angie retired as Assistant Director of Laundry at Notre Dame. She was a member of M.R. Falconettes and loved golfing in the M.R. Falcons and Notre Dame golf leagues as well as bowling. Angie enjoyed crocheting, knitting and cooking for her family and friends. We have lost a wonderful mother and grandmother. We love you mom. Visitation for Angelina will be 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm, with a Rosary to be prayed at 7:30 pm, on Tuesday, September 3, 2013 in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Rd. A funeral service will be celebrated at 10:00 am Wednesday in St. Joseph Funeral Home. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
