Michael Joseph Adamek, 57, passed away on Thursday, September 20, 2018. He was born on August 6, 1961, in South Bend, Indiana, to the late Joseph and Charlotte (Hienkle) Adamek. On June 5, 1999, he married Susan Earl, who survives. Other survivors include three step-sons: Phillip, Evan, and Dale Young; three step-grandchildren: Jacklyn, Kaitlyn, and Adam Young; one brother, Frank Adamek; his half brother, Renee Lec. Adamek; one niece, MacKenzie Adamek; and one great-nephew, John Adamek. Michael was a longtime custodian at the University of Notre Dame. A visitation will be from 2:00 until 4:00 pm on Sunday, September 30, 2018 in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Dr., South Bend, IN. A funeral service will be held at 4:00 pm in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pet Refuge or a charity of the donor’s choice in Michael’s honor.
