MISHAWAKA - Ruth F. Lifke, 83, of West Grove Street, died after an illness at 4:05 a.m. today in her home. Mrs. Lifke was a former licensed practical nurse employed by St. Joseph Community Hospital. She was born Aug. 8, 1912, in Bremen. On March 25, 1933, in South Bend, as Ruth Coil, she married Michael Lifke. He died Dec. 26, 1991. She is survived by a son, James M. of Santa Claus, Ind.; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Hazel Folk of Elkhart and LaVerne Sheehe of Jupiter, Fla.; and two brothers, Richard Coil of Elkhart and Rev. Melvin M. Coil Jr. of South Bend. She attended First Church of the Nazarene. Services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday in Bubb Funeral Chapel North, 3910 N. Main St. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Friends may call two hours before services in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of St. Joseph County Inc.
