SOUTH BEND - Another of God's children was called home to glory this past weekend. Mary Irene (Antolick) Wehr, 89, of South Bend, peacefully passed away on Saturday, October 5, 2013, in her daughter's home. She was born on November 29, 1923, in Bethlehem, PA, to the late John and Mary (Konsko) Antolick. In January 1948, she married Thomas Edward Wehr, who died at the age of 42 in a car accident. Mary was also preceded in death by her daughter, Sharon, her granddaughter, Kelly Anderson, her sister, Blanche Antolick, and brother-in-law, Robert Sheriff. Mary is survived by her daughter, Mary Eileen Wehr-Anderson (Doug) of South Bend; four grandchildren, Douglas (Christine), Sharon, Victoria and Rebecca Anderson; two great-grandchildren, Elizabeth and Bradley Anderson; by a sister, Beatrice (Robert) Sheriff of Bethlehem, PA; nieces, Roberta Pennington and Leslie Bishop; and nephews, John and Bron Sheriff. Mary was a graduate of Bethlehem Business College, and she worked in Bethlehem, and Chicago, IL as an executive secretary in the Bethlehem Steel Company. She and her husband, Tom, moved to South Bend during a job transfer, and Mary stayed home to raise her two girls until the untimely death of her husband. Mrs. Wehr worked as a Resource Paraprofessional for the Visually Impaired Program through the South Bend Community School Corporation. She retired in June 1994, after 25 years of service. Our family is grateful to Grace Hospice, Marty McCarthy, Linda Ampey, and many friends and family members who helped us care for our precious Mom and Grandma in our home. We know you're dancing with Jesus, Mom! Visitation will be from 4 to 7 pm Tuesday, October 8, 2013, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, where services will follow at 7 pm. Burial will take place in Bethlehem Memorial Park, Bethlehem, PA.
