NEW CARLISLE - Ruth Janizak, 88, of New Carlisle, died Friday morning, August 11th in Hamilton Grove. She was born December 23, 1928, in South Bend to the late Hugo Kahre and Martha Derinhaus. On March 31, 1951 she married Daniel F. Janizak who preceded her death in 1996. She is survived by twin daughters, Arlene K. Holt and Darlene G. Megyese (Thomas) both of South Bend; three grandchildren, Brett D. Voreis (Lucy), Devin T. Megyese and Todd W. Megyese; and one great-grandchild, Cora Voreis. Ruth was a retired billing secretary for Bereth Oil Co. from 1982 to 2000. Prior to Bereth she worked at Reith-Riley. Ruth graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1946, and was a member of the Bell Hops high school club. She attended South Bend Business College of Commerce for two years. Ruth enjoyed being with friends and loved playing euchre, bowling, reading and water skiing; she also belonged to a sewing club. A Memorial Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 15, 2017 in the Welsheimer Family Funeral Home North, 17033 Cleveland Rd. Friends may visit with the family from 3:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 7:00 on Tuesday. The family wishes to thank all the staff and caregivers at Hamilton Grove and Heartland Hospice for their care of their mother.
