SOUTH BEND - Robert M. Slott, 71, of South Bend, Indiana, passed away Sunday, January 8, 2012. Robert was born on September 21, 1940, in South Bend, Indiana to the late Mitchell and Clara (Zarembka) Slott. He retired as an Assistant Manger from Martins Supermarket, after 50 years of service in the grocery business. He started his career with A & P Supermarket, then Maurek IGA Supermarket, then Wilts Grocery Store, before retiring from Martins Supermarkets. Surviving is a son, Kevin (Belinda) Slott of Mishawaka, Indiana; grandchildren, Deaven Rathwick, Christian and Tayler Slott; and sisters, Sandra (Rudy) Bokon of South Bend and Patricia Slott of South Bend. Two sons, Patrick and Michael Slott, preceded him in death. Robert graduated from New Carlisle High School in 1958, was a member of the Studebaker Club, and enjoyed Stock Car Racing. Visitation for Robert will be held from 2-7 p.m. Sunday, January 15, 2012, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, Indiana. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, January 16, 2012, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.
