INDEX

[N10988] Leo A. Micinski's father was:
Ignacy, (7/27/1871 -10/17/1928) married Jozefa Witkowski ( 3/8/1873- 4/26/1909.)

They had nine children together:
Bill (9/5/1895)
Casmir (2/15/1897)
Leo (4/11/1899)
Walter (6/14/1900)
Joe ( 3/8/1902)
Mary and Madeline (4/16/1903)
Tillie (first Tillie born in 1905)
Stanley (4/19/1909)

Jozefa died, in the hospital, ten days after Stanley’s birth. They think she fell and hit her head the night before she was supposed to come home.

Sophie, younger sister of Jozefa, had been living with the family since she had come over from Poland with Jozefa. (After Jozefa died, since Sophie was living in the home, taking care of all the children, the parish priest told Ignacy that he should marry her. The parish priest was a very good friend of Ignacy. We understand that Ignacy was the church organist.)

Ignacy married Jozefa's sister, Sophie ( born 3/19/1889) ( married 7/12/1910.)
The last 6 children were with Sophie :
Vickie (12/20/1912)
Helen (5/20/1915)
Tillie (second Tillie) (6/15/1916) (still living)
Alice (1917)
Eugene (1923) (still living)
Julia (1924) (still living)

Eric Rems, son of Alice, has done a lot of research on this branch of the Micinski family.

We visited with Aunt Tillie (Micinski)Goralski yesterday. She is 86 years old and very sharp and well versed in family history.

The first Tillie died when she was 8 years old. The story is that a neighbor lady hit her on the head, with a broomstick and she died 2 weeks later. Ignacy loved her so much that he named a later child after her. He also had her picture superimposed into a family portrait of himself, Sophie, and all 15 children.

I know Cecilia and Donald well although I have been out of touch with them in recent years. I send Jerry and Arthur a Christmas card every year and receive one from them also.
