On Oct. 10, 1905, Rev. Val Czyzewski, C.S.C., a Roman Catholic priest, married Wladyslaw Rafinski and Bronislawa Wozniak in St. Joseph Co., Indiana. The marriage application records filed with the county include the following: Wladyslaw, a molder, was born Nov. 27, 1881 in South Bend to Frank & Anna Nabanowski Rafinski. Both of his parents, deceased, were born in Prussian Poland. Bronislawa, a dressmaker, was born Nov. 29, 1883 in South Bend to Jacob & Maryana Pieniazkiewicz Wozniak. Both of her parents were born in Prussian Poland and were residents of South Bend where Jacob was a molder. It was the first marriage for both Wladyslaw and Bronislawa.

According to the 1910, 1930, and 1940 federal census records of South Bend, and the gravestones in the family lot in Cedar Grove Cemetery, the children of Wladyslaw and Bronislawa Rafinski included (in birth order): Genowefa, Frank, Henry, Anna, Gertrude, Edvard, and Clement.
