ELKHART - Florence E. Fronke, 96, of Elkhart, died on Sunday, September 24, 2017 at St. Vincent's Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana. Florence was born on September 10, 1921 in South Bend to the late Herman and Margaret (Henry) Henry. She was also preceded in death by 2 sisters and 2 brothers. As Florence Henry, she married John W. “Bill” Fronke on June 6, 1959 in South Bend. He survives along with her brother, Carl Henry of California and two sisters; her twin sister, Margaret Danner of Osceola and Hilda Bare of New Carlisle, IN. For most of her life, Florence was a homemaker. Prior to that, she worked as a bookkeeper for Associates, which is where she and Bill met. Florence was a graduate of Riley High School in South Bend. She was an avid reader who enjoyed sports of all types. She loved gardening, crewel embroidery and traveling with Bill. Visitation for Florence will be held on Thursday, September 28th from 5 until 7 at the Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home. There will be no funeral service and private entombment will take place at a later date at Rice Cemetery.
