MISHAWAKA - Susan Elizabeth “Betty” Zavor, 93, of Mishawaka, IN, passed away at 2:10 p.m. Sunday, August 13, 2017, at the Sanctuary of St. Paul's with her loving family at her side. Betty was born on July 15, 1924, in South Bend, IN, to Thomas R. and Helen Louise (Decker) Webb. On September 7, 1956, Betty married Frank Zavor. Frank preceded her in death on October 25, 1992. Betty was also preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Zelda Mae Gard, her brothers, John R. Webb in 2014 and Joseph Blower in 1992, a sister, Catherine R. Kosanovich in 1993. Betty is survived by her children, Franklin K. Zavor of Florida and Donna Lee Hartman of South Bend, IN, eight grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren, and seven nieces and nephews. Betty retired from Betty's A 1 Beauty Salon where she was owner and operator. She was a waitress for the Oliver Hotel, LH Inn and Club Lido. She attended South Bend College of Commerce and Vogue Beauty School. Betty was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Mishawaka where she has been a member since 1965. She was a member of the Rosary Society of the church, DAV Chapter 6 auxiliary, Columbian Ladies of the Knights of Columbus Council #1878, AARP, Kiwanis, and she worked the weekly Sunday Mass on WNDU Channel 16. Visitation for Betty will be on Friday, August 18, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Bubb Funeral Chapel, 3910 N. Main Street, Mishawaka. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday, August 19, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 225 S. Mill Street, Mishawaka, with Father Christopher Lapp officiating the services. Entombment will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Osceola, IN. Memorial contributions may be made to Kiwanis or to Gibault School for Boys, 6401 S. U.S. Highway 41, Terre Haute, IN 47802.
