I know "Pat Maeyens" ...my father and her hubbie, Clem Jr are (were) cousins. Yes, his death was very untimely. Pat and two of her children came to our first Jachimiak reunion, 4 years ago now...time sure flies.

My Uncle Ted and Clem spent a lot of time together in their youth. Although Ted was quite a bit older than Clem, he was their grandma's favorite. And since Aunt Sophie and Uncle Clem lived in great-grandma's house....great-grandma had my uncle over often(his brothers were jealous, as they said she spoiled him rotten.. I have a pic that I will send you of the two of them in the back yard there. My father's family lived very close to them (Thomas and Anna) when they were children. They lived on Bendix Dr in South Bend, and Thomas and Anna lived on Carlisle St.

We saw the whole Otolski clan at Great-Aunt Sophie's funeral. My dad (Edward), my uncle Walt, my Uncle Gene, and Uncle Ray made it)...Uncle Ted is in Florida and didn't want to travel as it was in the winter. He was very sad over her passing. I remember going to her house when I was a small child and having Czarnina (duck blood soup)....I had some that is, until I found out what was in it!

We even found another distant cousin....her name is Deborah Battaglieri, she is Great Aunt Mary 's(Aunt Sophie's oldest sister) great granddaughter...born in 1951. Mary and Joseph are so far apart in ages, I think Great-grandmother Anna and her son Martin and daughter Mary were having children at the same time! Deborah lives in the Detroit area...well, actually she is in Europe currently but her father, Robert Wallace Budd (shortened from Budzinski) was alive and living in Detroit area when we last communicated. He would be Mary's grandson of her eldest son, Wallace Stephen Budd (born Ladislaus Budzinski in South Bend).
