November 2, 1929 - Nov 25, 2021

Granger - Leona was called to heaven after passing away at home on Thursday, with her family by her side. Leona was born November 2, 1929 in South Bend to the late Sophie Kasprzak. On September 27, 1947, Leona married the love of her life, Anthony Bogunia. He preceded her in death on July 19, 1991 along with their son, Christopher in 2013; a son-in-law, Thomas Hess, and her brother, Lawrence (Marge) Kloski. Left to cherish the memory of Leona are her children, Gregory Bogunia and Becky Hess; daughters-in-law, Cathy Dodd and Carla Bogunia; grandchildren, Bruce Bogunia, Christopher (Lorraine) Wesolowski, Justin (Cayce) Bogunia, Nathan (Allison) Bogunia, Courtney (Nicholas) Bogunia-Cherrone, Aaron Bogunia, Evan Bogunia; 13 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Leona worked for RACO for many years until retiring at the age of 67. She was a devout catholic and strong in her faith. Leona was dedicated to her family; they were her whole life. She attended all her grandchildren's sporting events and other activities. She liked Notre Dame football and women's basketball, and enjoyed watching the Kansas City Chief's quarterback, Mahomes. She also enjoyed traveling with friends. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Mary Grace Zakowski for the kind and compassionate care she provided for their mother. Visitation will be 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Sunday, November 28, 2021 in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, Mayflower Rd. with a Rosary to be prayed at 7:30pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am, Monday, November 29, 2021 in Holy Cross Catholic Church. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
