SOUTH BEND - Tim E. Korros, 59, of South Bend, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, March 2, 2008, after an illness. Tim was born September 17, 1948, in LaPorte, Indiana, to Edward C. and Susan (Atkinson) Korros, both of whom have preceded him in death. He was a dispatcher for the Mishawaka Police and Fire Departments and formerly of the South Bend Police and Fire Departments. Surviving are sisters, Karen Coder of Auburn, Indiana, Becky (David) Hoot of Stewartville, Minnesota; a brother, Jeff (Maureen) Korros of South Bend; stepbrothers, Brian (Mimi) Herwehe of LaPorte, Indiana, Don (Mary) Herwehe of Muncie, Indiana, and Tom Herwehe of Florida; several nieces and nephews including Matthew and Stefanie Korros. Tim was a veteran of the U.S. Army, graduated from Indiana University, and was dedicated to public service for both the police and fire departments. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 13, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, IN. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, March 14, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, with burial to follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger, Indiana. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 601 West Edison Road, Mishawaka, IN 46545.
