MISHAWAKA - Thomas E. Pauwels, 69, passed away on Sunday, October 15, at home after years of battling kidney disease and cancer. Tom was born on November 16, 1947, in Mishawaka, to the late Pinky and Margaret Pauwels. On February 22, 1975, Tom married Judith (Heater) Pauwels. She survives along with their two daughters, Jennifer (Mike) Reppert and Melissa (John) Delph, both of Indianapolis. He is also survived by one grandson, Jacob Delph; a sister, Sylvia Hale; mother-in-law, Carol Hahn; sister-in-law, Linda Nagy; three nieces, Julie Provey, Angie (Mark) Strawmyer and Christie (Stefan) Selby; and many great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers-in-law, Gerald Hale and Don Nagy, and godson, Robert Waelbroeck. Tom graduated from Mishawaka High School in 1965. Served Apprenticeship in Tool and Die. He was part owner of Micro Tool and Machine. He was a member of K of C and BK Club. He enjoyed Belgian Bolling and golf. Tom was a people person and his friends meant the world to him, and he loved to entertain. Visitation is Thursday, October 19, from 2 to 7 p.m. in Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka. A Mass of Christian Burial is Friday, Oct. 20, at 10 a.m. in St. Bavo Catholic Church, Mishawaka, with Rev. Barry England officiating. Burial follows at Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 130 Red Coach Dr., Mishawaka, IN 46545; or to the National Kidney Foundation of Indiana, 911 E. 86th St., Suite 100, Indianapolis, IN 46240.
