NORTH LIBERTY - Mr. Richard N. Piotrowicz, 75, of North Liberty, Indiana, died Tuesday, December 9, 2014, at Walkerton-Miller's Merry Manor in Walkerton, IN. He was born November 10, 1939, in LaPorte, Indiana, the son of Ferdinand Piotrowicz and Francis (Novak) Piotrowicz. Richard worked as a dock worker for Shippers & Ashland Chemical. He was a member of Mill Creek Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the US Navy. Richard received his degree from IUSB. Richard coached and ran youth league in North Liberty. He enjoyed fishing, collecting Indian artifacts, and loved spending time with his family and friends. On December 16, 1960, in Illinois, he married Virginia "Ginny" (Carlson) Piotrowicz, who survives. He is also survived by his two sons, Scott (April) Piotrowicz of North Liberty, IN, and Brian (Terri) Piotrowicz of Lake In The Hills, IL; two daughters, Robin (Roberto) Paz of Covington, LA, and Kay Piotrowicz of Indianapolis, IN; six grandchildren, Adam Piotrowicz, Kelsey Odell, Elizabeth Paz, Maria Paz, Richard Straight, and Ashley Cosamento; two great-grandchildren, Callie and Kaiden; two half brothers, Kenny and Brad; one half sister, Suzie; many aunts, uncles and cousins. Richard was preceded in death by his parents. Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, IN, where the family will receive friends Friday, December 12, 2014, from 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm & Saturday, December 13, 2014, from 1:00 pm until time of services. A life celebration will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Saturday, December 13, 2014, at 2:00 pm, with Rev. Ronald Devenport officiating. Interment will follow at the Oak Grove Cemetery, Mill Creek, Indiana. Memorial contributions may be made to the Disabled American Veterans, 2301 Ohio Street, Michigan City, IN 46360; or to Mill Creek Baptist Church, 8762 E. 200 S., Mill Creek, IN 46365.
