SOUTH BEND - Ethelyn R. Zurawski, 83, passed away at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, January 30, 2008, in the Holy Cross Care and Rehabilitation Center. Ethelyn was born on June 11, 1924, in Lansing, MI, to the late Clyde and Margaret (Norton) Towsley. On October 28, 1944, Ethelyn married John Zurawski, who passed away on December 18, 1984. Also preceding her in death were two sons, Michael in 2004 and Alexander in 2001; a sister, Effie; and a brother, Henry Towsley. She is survived by her children, Maryellen (Roger) Curry of South Bend, Janet (Jake) Karn of South Bend, John (Dorothy McCormick) Zurawski of South Bend and Andrew (Karen) Zurawski of Mishawaka; 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Waunetta of Lowell, MI. Ethelyn worked for the South Bend Community School Corporation before retiring in 1983 and belonged to the Chain-O-Lakes Conservation Club Auxiliary. She was a member of St. Casimir Catholic Church and was involved with the Rosary Society at the church. Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 3, 2008, in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Road. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 4, in St. Casimir Catholic Church. Cremation will take place and burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Casimir Catholic Church, 1308 W. Dunham St., South Bend, IN 46619.
