SOUTH BEND - Joan M. Zurawski, 76, passed away on Tuesday, June 13, 2017, in her home.Joan was born December 2, 1940, in South Bend, to the late Frank Jr. and Catherine (Parrish) Pusti. On February 14, 1990, Joan married Michael Zurawski, who preceded her in death on March 5, 2004. Joan was also preceded in death by a grandson, Richard D. Parker, Jr. Survivors of Joan include her children, Alan (Mavis Nichols) Parker of South Bend, Nancy Van Scoyk of South Bend, Rickey F. LaFluer of South Bend, Richard (Kim) Parker, Sr. of New Carlisle, Robert Parker of South Bend and Joseph S. Parker of South Bend; grandchildren, Joseph David (Melanie) Parker, Charlotte (Adam) Fry, Jonathan (Patti) Van Scoyk, Krystal Parker (Dominic Dekerr), Tiffany Parker, Jennie Myland, Ciara (Justin Robinette), Robert and Gillian Bushman; great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Noah, Devin, Kirsten, Dominic Jr., Madison, Shelby, Frankie and Addison; and her “fur children”, Butterscotch, Miss Kitty, Callie and Lucky. Joan worked for Chauncey's A&W Root Beer Stand as a car hop, Luigi's Pizza delivery driver, Carlyle Nursing Home, and Kmart Automotive Department. She was an avid Cubs, Bears and Colts fan (unless playing the Bears), NASCAR driver Clint Bowyer fan, and Notre Dame Women's Basketball fan. A Gathering for Joan will be 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm, Wednesday, June 28, 2017, in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Rd., with a Memorial Service to begin at 2:00 pm. in the funeral home. We would like to thank the Center for Hospice Care for all the care given to our mother, especially Dr. Jon Kubley, our nurses, Natalie, Chrissy, Nancy Jo, Nancy, Helen and all the others who came in. To our aide, Amanda: You always made mom feel special. A very big “Thank You” to our volunteer, Cyndie Kilgore; mom loved the time you spent with her waiting for April the Giraffe to give birth; you gave her love, peace and a friend to share with.
